LEGO!
The Danish toy company manufactured more than 730 million tyres in 2016! Ok, they’re not exactly real tyres, but that’s serious volume – equivalent to nearly 40% of the estimated 1.85 billion motor vehicle tyres produced globally in 2017.
But by sale value it’s a different story. Bridgestone leads the industry with $26.2 billion USD of tyre-related sales for 2017, followed by Michelin with $23.4 billion USD, Goodyear with $14.6 billion USD, Continental with $12.6 billion USD and Sumitomo at $6.3 billion USD.
Little boy toys or big boys toys – either way, it’s a lot of rubber!
